EXHAUSTION DOESN’T HAVE TO BE YOUR NEW NORMAL

Burnout is a state of chronic stress that leads to physical and emotional exhaustion, cynicism, detachment, feelings of ineffectiveness, and lack of accomplishment – many of the same symptoms as depression. Burnout is on the increase as we struggle to juggle the pressures of work and family life with a constant feeling of always being on.

Everyone has stress, and some stress is good for our body—but excessive stress, which releases too much cortisol, will totally zap your energy, hinder your sleep, suppress immune function, cause weight gain, headaches and gut health to name a few. While cortisol is best known as the “stress hormone,” it also manages a host of other functions, like helping the body better utilize carbohydrates, fats, and proteins; decreasing inflammation; keeping blood pressure stable, and normalizing our sleep cycles. It also helps the body manage its glycemic control, which is its ability to metabolize carbohydrates efficiently so that we don’t experience peaks and valleys in blood sugar levels. When our cortisol goes out of whack, fatigue becomes a huge problem and exhaustion takes hold as your “new norm.”

Cortisol, aka the adrenal hormone, affects a wide range of functions throughout the body and is also the most common imbalance in the twenty-first century. Certain substances, known as adaptogens, have the power to balance the various systems within the body and to reduce the impact of stress. Adaptogens can be especially helpful for adrenal fatigue.

Adaptogens that help support the adrenals include

Chaga

Chaga, a nutrient-rich powerhouse of over 200 potent phytonutrients, is very helpful for balancing the stress response. Antioxidants in Chaga provide further support for the immune system and have been shown in numerous studies to prevent cellular mutations that can contribute to disease.

Cordyceps

The Cordyceps mushroom is known for its ability to improve energy, decrease stress and improve physical performance. It further enhances the immune response and possesses antioxidant properties.

Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha has been used for many centuries to reduce stress and its impact on the body. A recent study showed that taking 500 mg a day of Sensoril® optimized Ashwagandha had cortisol levels nearly 30 percent lower than those who took a placebo, as well as significantly higher DHEA levels.

Purica’s Adrenal Support Supplement helps reduce the symptoms of stress, such as fatigue, sleeplessness, irritability, and inability to concentrate.

A rich source of antioxidants, taking two Adrenal Support capsules daily provides an effective synergistic dose of the adaptogens listed above and provides the following benefits.

  • Helps the body to better handle stress

  • Reduces tension and disharmony

  • Reduces cortisol production

  • Reduces inflammation

  • Improves cardiovascular health

  • Increases DHEA and sports endurance

  • Regulates the immune system

*If additional testosterone support is needed adding an afternoon dose of Ashwagandha is an effective option.
