Tart cherry juice

Tart cherry juice is rich in nutrients and a new addition to my post workout nutrition routine! Why? Aside from the fact that I love cherries,  the high antioxidant levels in tart cherry juice can help improve brain function and is effective at reducing muscle soreness and improving sleep.

Blending one cup of tart cherry juice with some fresh pressed ginger root and collagen is a great post workout elixir to help speed recovery.  

Tart cherries are naturally rich in melatonin, a hormone responsible for sleepiness and contain a good amount of tryptophan and anthocyanins, two compounds that can help the body create melatonin and lengthen its effects.
